Kontakt 7 - How to identify INCOMPATIBLE FILES?

I regularly see this message when I add folders to Kontakt. They're just various library folders that sound as expected when I play them, but maybe some other files in them are causing issues?

It does not tell me WHICH files are compatible.

I think it may be related to this duplicate crash, where something with the database is causing duplicating instances of Kontakt to crash.

But besides that, it'd be generally useful to show someone, so they can weed those out. In others words, it says "ensure" but does not tell me what to look for.

Does anyone know how?

The following file formats are available in KONTAKT:

.wav

.aiff

.aif

.rex

.rx2

.ncw

Battery 1 .kit

Battery 2 .kt2

Battery 3 Kits .kt3

Battery 3 Cells.cl3

...plus all Kontakt formats of course.

@Sunborn Thanks for replying, the complication here is that Kontakt library folders also contain other files like .pdf documentation, which I'd expect to be ignored.

In any case, it'd be useful to have a means to identify what's "incompatible" (corrupted files?) and causing conflict.

What it means with "incompatible" is not compatible (is not talking about corrupted files). Also nothing to do with .pdf or similar files. Is talking about audio files that can not be imported to Kontakt. For example .mp3 files. Check this directory, maybe you have there some mp3 files? or .flac or any other format, not supported by Kontakt.

@Sunborn Some folders do have MP3s as demo tracks showing off a library, I’d like to leave those there as reference.

Yes, that supports my feeling that Kontakt should be more specific to LIST the files like a “show in Finder”, or allow ignoring those.

I've tried loading the Nki files on the instrument folder on kontakt7, it works but somehow it has no sound and seems to be not working.

I encountered this and one type that seems incompatible are monolith .nki files. I resaved them using instrument+samples and now they can be ingested into my user library. Maybe this method of saving patches has been outdated?

I´m having the same problem, i´m trying to import a .NKI flie into Kontak7 and it´s not acceptin it.
