Where is the main window?

New user here.

When I open Kontakt 7, as a standalone or as a Cubase track, the window that pops up is the library browser and not the main window (as far as I can tell).

How do I get to the main window?

So, I had “ minimize view” on, which led me to believe I was looking at the wrong window.

Now everything looks right.

Once you load an instrument you should go to the main window

Which instrument are you trying to load?

When you double click on a preset on the list to the right, it opens the instrument (or “main window” as you say)

when I add an instrument track in Cubase, my options are kontakt 7 and komplete kontrol. Is that what you mean?

Or does it open first to the browser, and only go to the main window once you’ve chosen a specific instrument?

maybe that’s where I’m going wrong.

Oh, I see you answered my question before I asked it!

I’ve been trying to learn by watching YouTube videos and following along in kontakt.

couldn’t figure out why my window didn’t look like theirs.

Ok. So did you succeed in the end?

This is how Kontakt (and Komplete Kontrol) work. They are “wrappers”. You load them and inside of them you chose the instrument

I’ll try tomorrow, But it’s making more sense now. I’m still getting my head around how the whole ecosystem works.
