Increase in spam in the forum.

Last few weeks there has been an increase in spam with help of ChatGPT it seems. New accounts that try to create new threads or try to "answer" a questions with AI.

It's always the same, only 1 or 2 total forum posts, [intro], [list], [summery] and a link in there somewhere. The worst is it can look "real" but is still nonsens dreamed up by AI.

Can we add a capture for registration? Or people with below 5 post have to get mod approval for posting with URLs?

Hi @lord-carlos I think we're getting more spam bots than usual because of our SEO ranking. I'm in contact with the platform provider if they can suggest ways we can prevent spams, thanks for the suggestion.

Because he posted 3 times it's clear it's spam, but on first look it even can fool veteran forum members.

I flagged it as spam a few days ago. It's still there.

^ Here it a bit more clear it might be a bot and there is yet not any link inserted.

But if you just skim it you might miss it.

Might be a good idea to show these example to your forum moderators, so they know what to look for.

It's getting .. weirder.

There have been at least 2 post from new users who directly link to "Intel Evo laptop"

The first one reads very AI like:

The second one .. could be real:

https://community.native-instruments.com/discussion/13990/suggestions-for-optimizing-native-instruments-software-on-intel-evo-laptops

But both write "Intel Evo laptop" with same capitalization and link to lenovo faq site.

And of course he continues with a new post:

Which makes it more clear it's spam. Who and why? I would assume lenovo would not do it? 😵 Any ideas?

Having mods unlock posts from new commers that contain URLs would prevent this.
