Kontact for playing standard MIDI files?
I am considering buying Komplete 14 Standard during SOS 2023 sale. I am not sure if it will do what I want, so will describe what I want to do.
I do not play keyboard, and I am not interested in piecing together snippets of sounds from samples to make a track. I have a lot of standard type 1 MIDI files that I have purchased or downloaded from the internet. They are mostly songs from the 60's and 70's. Examples: Eagles, Beatles, CCR.
I have a software instrument that I use in Cakewalk by Bandlab, Roland Sound Canvas VA, which emulates the old Sound Canvas hardware units. The sounds are OK, but I would like better sounds.
Will I be able to load individual instruments into Kontact and assign them to my MIDI file tracks to get it to play the song, like Sound Canvas VA would, but with (hopefully) more realistic sounds?

The procedure will be the same: Cakewalk will play your midi files. Which instrument produces the sound is irrelevant. Any plugin you load on that track will work. If you load Kontakt (or KK) with an instrument in it it will work exactly as Sound Canvas

Great! Thanks. I asked because all the youtube videos I watched about using Kontact were about creating songs from scratch by triggering sounds from Maschine or a keyboard. And the genre of music was EDM, rap, etc, not classic rock.
