I have always used Guitar Rig 5 with an iD14 interface and Shure SM7B mic. I never had any issues selecting the driver/interface in the audio settings to record before.

However, I recently switched to a Shure MV7, that is a direct USB mic that no longer requires an interface. When I try to select the driver in the audio settings menu, it crashes and says this...

This would almost certainly be a Shure issue (with the MV7 drivers) not an NI issue. Make sure you're on the latest Shure drivers (https://www.shure.com/en-US/support/downloads/software-firmware-archive/mv7) and if you are, drop Shure a line and ask them.

Thanks, but this is very unlikely. Shure delivers their drivers through their ShurePlus desktop app. And it pushes down all the latest downloads (including the most up-to-date firmware), which I already have.

@buddyholly1955 Guitar RIg requires an audio device that has an input AND an output. I imagine that the MV7 does not have an output but only an input. The problem might come from that. On Mac it would be an easy thing to create an aggregate device but on Windows it's a little bit tricky. I think programs like Voicemeeter can do that:

That was a good suggestion about the both inputs. However, it does have an output source (via an on board mic jack). So it does read in the control panel of Windows 10 as having a playback and recording option. Unless Guitar Rig only recognizes quarter inch line input/outputs.

Ok, does Shure offer an ASIO driver for that microphone / interface?
