Using 1 instance of Kct for a multi sound and separate outs in Cubase gives you better control of your individual elements. That's nice. You get 1 big sound for every note you hit on the keyboard with a lot of tweak ability.

But If you set up the same 1 instance of Kct(save ram) but want 5 instruments with their own midi notes ,not a multi sound,.....how do you do that? Is that a Cubase thing...?

You can do that with creating some midi tracks and set every midi track to output on a different midi channel but all to one kontakt instance. Within kontakt on zoo of every instrument you can set the midi channel it listening to, first is normally set to A1.
