Why does Logic Pro not recognize my MIDI

So I have a Maschine Mikro MK3. I've mapped it up with Superior Drummer 3 samples via Controller Editor. (I followed this video to set it up, though the device in the video is not a micro mk3:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WhTXrW3TLpc&list=PLKcmYeWwfFWj7gDPD2nVdhBvm1hIN6S75&index=13).
That part is working great. However, I don't know where to go next. I want to record my MIDI device in Logic Pro X, preferably with each pad as its own track. But LPX doesn't even recognize that my MIDI device is even making a sound. I'm sure it's a basic thing but what am I missing here?
