getting started

Hi I'm new & having a hard time getting oriented to Komplete Kontrol & Kontact, using them in cakewalk. They seem to have some duplicate functions? I was used to Kore & this seems more confusing. Can anyone direct me to the best up-to-date tutorials to help me learn basic functionality? thanks!

Use Kontakt by itself as a plugin for starters. Get to know it.

KK was designed to work with everything and the KK keyboards as an interface. If you load up specific instruments all the controls will be assigned on the keyboard (knobs etc) and will be reflected in the software. But it also works without the keyboards as a plugin that can load Kontakt or Reaktor and all NI synths.
