Ok so it seemed to fix it for about an hour, the problem then returned. Nothing seems to have changed, the lights still flash and the buttons dont work. Having preorders in October, this is SO frustrating to have such an expensive piece of equipment not work on arrival.

Fantastic thanks man, I ordered one and it should arrive tomorrow so hopefully it will be resolved by then! ill keep the thread open just incase.

Ok awesome, do we have any idea why the cables that they have been shipping with are faulty? is it to do with apple compatibility? and just to be clear it should go away if I get another cable?
