Distortion in Kontakt Library

I recently purchased Hemisphere from Fractured Sounds and installed via Native Access. Using Kontakt 7, I noticed some very noticeable distortion on many of the guitar sounds (it is a guitar and pads sound library) with this instrument. I hear the distortion through my speakers and headphones connected to my Yamaha keyboard connected to late model IMAC 16Gb memory, SSD. I have lots of virtual instruments with no issues.

I recorded some keyboard with the instrument into Logic Pro and created an MP3 file, it was perfect. The problem seems to be with the Kontakt routing back to the keyboard and out to speakers/headphones.

Also, important to note, the distortion is only noticeable with Kontakt 7 and not with Kontakt 6. Any ideas?

This issue may happen when using heavy duty VST. These VST usually deal with large sample files and from time to time you may experience some quality loss or distorted audio when loading patches or presets. This commonly happens with Native Instruments Kontakt because most of the libraries are sample based.

To confirm this, please check if, while you hear such distortions, your CPU is also heavily loaded. If this is the case, putting the buffer size of your audio card at a higher value, may fix the problem.

Works fine in Kontakt 6. Why would that be different?

That, i do not know.

Maybe Kontakt 7 requires much more computer resources than Kontakt 6.

What kind of distortion are we talking about? Could you post an example?

Are there some differences between the settings of Kontakt 6 and Kontakt 7? Especially MIDI settings, I suspect there could be a MIDI loop here and when you play a note, it plays it again on top creating feedback/distortion.

I just purchased and downloaded 14 Ultimate. I'm seeing the same distortion issue with some of the libraries as well... Alicias Keys, Session Strongs Pro 2...

Processor/Hardware is barely even registering on my Mac Studio.... def not a capacity issue.

Any thoughts on how to resolve this? Should I just try to reinstall Kontakt 7?

@Matt35000 Did you install your libraries on an external hard drive? What is the format of that drive? It should be APFS, please read this article: Notes on Hard Drive Formats on Mac Computers
