Guitar Rig 6 Pro will not open
Hi there,
Guitar Rig has been running normally for ages, no issues. However, today it will not open. I have tried Re-installing it, as well as deleting the Registry and folder from other troubleshooting steps.
Is there something else I'm missing?
Thanks!

Is it happening both in standalone and plugin versions?

Yes, it crashes my DAW every time I load the plugin and the standalone won't open.

Did you update something? Any changement in your computer?

Do you have a crashlog? What's your operating system version? Which version of Guitar Rig are you using?

I am on Guitar Rig 6 Pro Version 6.3.0, on a windows computer. Where can I access the crash log?
No changes in my computer, Possibly a windows update? I've checked, all my drivers are up to date as well.

Did you try deleting the database folder? You could also try deleting the Controller Assignments.shm file in the same directory.
(c:\Users\YourUserName\AppData\Local\Native Instruments\Guitar Rig 6\)
As for crash logs, it's a little tricky on Windows. You could search for *.dmp files on your drives.

I thought I had the issue solved. My C drive was nearly full so I deleted some stuff and reinstalled guitar rig. That fixed the problem temporarily, now today it has done the exact same thing again. None of the troubleshooting tips here have worked.

I here because I have this problem too. GR6 recently crashes my DAW and crashes on opening using standalone. I am using macos big sur. I had successfully used the new 6.4 update one time but not since. Following the steps in the article did not solve the issue.

After what events does it start to crash? What audio driver / device are you using?

I am using a Behringer UMC 204HD with the standard ASIO driver I believe. Standalone won't open, and loading a project that has the VST crashes the entire DAW.

And when you do this, it still does not open?
Delete the USER Registry:
- Click the Windows Start button on the bottom left of your screen and type 'regedit' to search and open the Windows Registry Editor.
- Go to the following location in the Registry Editor:
- HKEY_CURRENT_USER > SOFTWARE > Native Instruments
- In the Native Instruments folder, locate the folder for your GUITAR RIG version and delete it. In this example, we delete the folder for Guitar Rig 6.

Yes, I have done this.

Updates: Using GR6 Player on macOS 11.7.8. Full uninstall, downgraded to 6.2.3 and no crashes. Updated to 6.4.0 and again crash on instantiation of plugin and standalone. Reinstall 6.2.3 again no crashes.
