FL Studio 21 not loading Kontakt instruments

Hey guys,

When loading a file after upgrading to FL Studio 21 it says Plugins Missing (Massive, Kontakt etc) even though they are installed and found. I lose all of my presets/instruments unless I use the original version I installed (FL11).

Any help would be hugely appreciated.

Thank you

Your problem is most likely that on previous versions you used a .dll (VST2 plugin version), while after upgrading, FL Studio is using a .vst3 (VST3 plugin version). I think now at least Kontakt is VST3 only. However Massive offers both versions, so it should be loading.

So If that's the case your have to, either:

-Delete the VST3 versions (NOT recommended!) so FL Studio sees the VST2 versions. It should work like this.

-Replace the plugins in the old projects with the VST3 version. It might be hard but is the right way, not only because VST3 is the future but also because many plugins are offering only VST3 versions now. You need only to find the right presets, the ones you used.

Hi, are your plugins being found and available when you create a new project in FL 21 and let's say add Massive or Kontakt as a plugin?

Thanks Sunborn - guess I'm just gonna have to go through all the old files and make lots of notes!

    Cheers for your help.
