Kontakt instruments not loading properly

Kontakt libraries stopped loading and look jumbled and no sound plays. This happened mid session so everything was working fine up until a certain point. Haven't had this issue before. Instruments still load and function properly in Kontakt standalone. Non Kontatk synths such as Massive X have also stopped producing sound. The issue started right after trying to load Session Guitarist Electric Mint (Melody) for the first time.

Restarting hasn't helped.

Latest version of Cakewalk.

Graphics and audio drivers are updated.

I have solved the issue.

It turns out changing the settings for creating a new synth track fixes the problem. It's possible that I unknowingly changed this setting, as accidentally pressing the spacebar can toggle it, though I don't see why it should result in Kontakt instruments not loading, displaying and functioning properly.

"MIDI Source" was selected, once I changed this to "Simple Instrument Track" Kontakt started to function correctly again.

I hope that any Cakewalk users that have this issue in the future will see this post.

I just updated to Komplete 14 from 13 a few days ago. I had no issues with other instruments previously but now nothing is working.

Yes, everything is up to date according to Native Access. In fact, even the new instruments I'd installed were working fine and then suddenly stopped.

I was not asking to be sure you have the latest version, but to try to understand if latest Kontakt version could be the culprit.

If this behavior appeared after a Kontakt update and was working correctly on the version before, maybe the problem relies in latest update

I say this because yesterday there was another user reporting some GUI problems

The Kontakt version hasn't changed between the instruments working and not working. It seems that none of the NI synths I have installed are working, not just Kontakt. Synths from other companies are working fine.

Does Cakewalk have some sort of “high DPI mode” or something similar you can try to switch on or off? It could be a problem related to graphic card

There seems to be two reasons as to why the GUI can get garbled:

1) The wrong audio driver is selected:

You may want to check what the "Status" field under the "Audio" tab in the Options window says.

These are (obviously) just two possibilities.

Currently using an ASIO driver, this hasn't been changed.
The status shows as running in the standalone version, however in the DAW version there is no audio or MIDI option when I click on options.

Not that I am aware of. Regardless I would not have changed such a setting. The instruments stopped working in the middle of a session where they had been working fine. It was only after trying to load Session Guitarist Electric Mint (Melody) that everything stopped functioning. This instrument was stuck loading permanently and then from that point all other instruments had UI issues and no audio.

Did you install using Native Access 1 or 2? If 1 try a reinstall using NA2

I reinstalled Kontakt with NA2 and now when I load a Kontakt instrument a message is displayed saying "AUDIO DRIVER NOT CONNECTED - Please check your audio settings". However this is not true as non NI synths are working fine and producing sound. It seems only NI synths are not detecting a driver.

I have solved the issue.

If anyone using FL Studio runs into the visual bug mentioned here, I was able to fix it simply by toggling 'Allow Smart Disable' in the Wrapper settings off and on again. Why this happened or why this fixed it? No clue.
