How to get non-player (Custom) libraries added to kontakt 7 into kontakt 8

I had added many non-player libraries to my Kontakt 7 as "Custom Libraries". Kontakt 8 does not show any of those in the main window.

Where is that data for custom libraries stored for Kontakt 7. And why didn't the Kontakt 8 install carry those over?

It seems like this sort of thing should be global for Kontakt, and not unique to each version.

There has to be a better way than having to spend hours re-adding these things just because of a version update. I mean, I paid good money for this update. It shouldn't make my life more complicated.

On Mac the user database files are stored in '/Users/username/Library/Application Support/Native Instruments/Kontakt 7' - I'm sure there is a similar place on Windows - I managed to copy them into the equivalent folder for K8

Well - these are custom entries - unique to every user and almost like the old "Quick Add" database - not considered to be part of a standard install.

Does not surprise me that it is a version by version thing.

I think I found it. On Windows I found a file called komplete.db3 in
C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Local\Native Instruments\Kontakt 7

I renamed the same file already in the Kontakt 8 folder, and pasted this file there. When I open Kontakt 8 it now seems to have all of the custom libraries that I had added.

NI really needs to address this.

Not exactly sure where these references are stored - but I do know they are unique to each Kontakt instance.

If you have added some custom libraries to K7 - you need to do them all over again for K8.
