Thankyou NI for the new Downloads area

Last couple of days ago I spotted the Downloads area for Logged in owners of NI products. THANKYOU! THANKYOU THANKYOU!! Seriously this is such a relief but hopefully its not tied to googledrive??. Anyway I realize this is new, and so will take time to get any disrepancies worked out. It so happens as Im nearly done Loading up my new MacStudio w K14UCE I needed to check there and compare some versions but which didn't seem to match NA. Nevermind, I was so glad to see it I didn't care.
After all this time, I'll also add that I really like the new (to me) NA interface. Its the first time Ive seen it. Love the dark mode. It was a little testy with a few little random glitches here and there but so far Im happy.

Yeah I saw that one too, really useful link ! Looks like the files are hosted on NI servers too rather than the old Google drive hosting that was usually not working due to exceeded bandwidth.
https://www.native-instruments.com/en/account/downloads/ is the link for anyone who needs it

Thanks @mykejb for altering my thread title. This has been such a requested feature Im sure a LOT of people will be happy. I can't tell you the level of frustration googledrive has caused me and many others besides. Didn't have time to check everything properly but this is a great move by NI.

I don't get it. What's the point of the Download section? Access to older versions of the plugins?

Yes. Everything that is registered to your NI Account - can now be downloaded - standalone.
Including ALL back versions.
Exactly what many have been asking for. You still need Native Access to activate - but at least you can stash every installer you ever had for a rainy day now.

FINALLY!
Finally, i can install what i want!
Finally, no more forced VST2, AAX or whatever!
Finally, no more 10 Traktor and 5 Maschine drivers for devices that i never had, will be installed on my system!
Finally, older versions in case you need them!
This is a huge step forward (for me at least).
Thank you Native Instruments. ❤️

Indeed, no Google drive, thankfully!
Pure NI space.

The point is if you've had a mishap for whatever reason like an update that renders your machine unusable in the sense where you cant use NI products or are severly limited, you can go back a version until things get sorted. It means you can stay in production with little to no downtime. Consider that verses you need Support, but they're busy and it can take WEEKS or MONTHS to get back on track. I had exactly that with Picked Acoustic. There's scads of people who will be so greatful for this.
Its a win win all around. NI can now concentrate on other things than having to give out links on a case by case basis.

Because people have so many issues with not only Native Access but new releases also being flakey they often need to download manually or download an older version. It has been requested for years, I mean every other developer offers a manual download method, but as we know things move at a different pace in a different dimension around here.

Thankyou for the confirm!!! What a relief. Great post too on all the reasons this is a good move.
Now I hope NI will complete the other related request where we can do offline authentications as an option. They said they were looking at it and would brief us in due course. IZotope offers this as do others. I'm all for them making it as secure as you can get - totally unbreakable if thats possible. I can understand the sentiment of hacking what you've paid for to make it work, but it shouldn't go that route. In short hackers are a slap in the face to people who have brought the product, and to the company surviving.
This is a great start to restoring some much needed confidence. Keep it coming NI!

And I always thought Native Access would be necessary anyway, to authorize the plugins.

it is and it is still capable of that, issue has been downloading and I stalling and especially compatibility and reliability of latest versions of software.

The offline auth would be nice for sure. I just hope if that did happen it wouldn't introduce counted installations. Having to contact a company to get licences reset is painful at the best of times, imagine doing that through a chatbot that's got an IQ lower than a peanut.

Ok. I must say that I had little problems with it. Mostly solved with the next update of Native Access.
My point is that you have to open the app anyway, if you want to authorize the plugins, so, it has to work anyway.
And, why do I always write "anyway"? Anyway… ;)

Hey there, yes Customer Care has been working on this for a while, alongside other departments. If we didn't make it more obvious until now is because not all products are in there for various reasons. Expansions are not in there, since the installers are slightly different and the latest versions are not always provided. It will be improved over time.
It has been a request from users and customer care agents for a while. Given the number of products and versions it's not an easy task.

I think you're not concentrating on what the main point of this thread is, that as I have explained and others as well, this is about being able to go back when something takes your system down because of some update, or other mishap, of which has been many many cases. Just because you haven't had many or no issues, thats not the case with others.
And for the record Im very happy with authenticating through NA at install time or an update. Offline authentications would be great as a second option if NA was causing issues or for those whose products are no longer supported, but the main focus here is being thankful that we can get installers now, and extended thanks its not from that damned insidious google drive.
