Good news: they are working on it.

Bad news: what they have done until now is far from “revolutionary”. Or even far from addressing things users asked from long time.

To be fair, what they have done is “correct”: they added a couple of features and they asked a small price for updating from Maschine 2.

Let’s put it like this: the small price asked reflects the small improvements offered. It’s not a wrong path to take: “we worked to add these things, this is the price for our work”. But only if they continue

The floating plugin windows not staying on top issue has finally been fixed. Within minutes of using v3.2 I’ve encountered bugs with plugins becoming unresponsive, thankfully you can save the project, close and reopen Maschine to get around the issue.

Unfortunately it doesn’t seem easy to reproduce the issue and it’s such as hassle to report bugs with NI. Beta testing/QC has been terrible for Maschine since v3 but at least they are moving in the right direction…

I remember back in 2013 when I was frustrated with akai when they released ren I hated the direction.. then I went to NI for 3 years and it was a bad decision.. I sold all and trade a beat for a new maschine mk3 and never used it still in the box.. then I saw komplete kontrol mk3 and wanted and purchased and the software is dog shoe and hate it.. this is where I'm at ..

With the lightguide on Maschine and the new internal Arp engine on Komplete Kontrol MK3 I hope we see a new Komplete Kontrol M-series keyboard to pair with the Maschine in August/September. We know at least one new products is planned this year and the M-series is due for a refresh.

Hope the new M-series keyboard have a lightguide (old one did not), internal Arp & Sequencer engine & hopefully Gate, CV and Clock to compete with the Arturia Keystep. And support for Kontakt control (previous version did not).

I suspect we also could see an X-series (new category) expression keyboard and/or an MPE Maschine this fall with some new synth products (with AI tech) but that is just an educated guess from competing products and what NI has surveyed.

It's moving in the right direction but you don't have to be in a hurry...
Having said that, I saw a post recently in which a member of NI said that they were working on improving automation. This is really excellent news, automation is a pain to manage in maschine and it's a real hindrance, at least for me, to finishing a project properly.

yeah , I’m itching to see those mentioned automation improvements, that and some mk3 keyboard integration , would leave me fairly content with maschine on a whole
