hi everyone!

I purchased s4 mk1 second hand and I was using it fine on my old laptop window 10, suddenly it’s not connecting to it and I have the master light flashing. I’ve tried to download new drivers but it’s extremely slow now and its very frustrating anyway i”I couldn’t fixed the issue so far.

My question is, considering then both are piece of history now, is no way I can get this to work or it needs just a newer laptop?

Hi. Check to be sure you didn't accidentally install Komplete Kontrol 3. That would break your connectivity, although I can't say if it would cause your flashing light. The correct version of KK to use for a MK1 keyboard is 2.9.6. So confirm that before you go down any side rabbit holes.

I too have a MK1, and might set it up for use on one specific computer just so it won't go to waste. But if it ever stops working, then I won't even bother selling it for parts on Ebay or Reverb…I'll just recycle it. Here in the US, you can take any small appliance to your local Best Buy store to have it properly recycled. That's better than tossing it into the local landfill.

Anyhow, that's my thinking at this point. Use it, but know that it's not even worth spending too much time trying to debug it. And it's not worth it to even ship it someplace. I have a MK1 version of an Arturia Lab and an MK2 version of the Novation SL…the same applies to them too. The Arturia's keyboard is awful and it misses notes, so the clock is ticking on that one.
