Any future plans to support all Komplete content on Maschine+ ?

Hello,

I have Komplete 14 (Standard), and am deciding between MPC One+ and Maschine+. A deal maker would be, if there are any at least rumors that all Komplete content will be supported in the future on Maschine+, not just the limited subset, which is available currently. I would like to be able to use all Kontakt libraries, which come with Komplete inside Maschine (e.g. The Grandeur etc.)

All? There's no chance of that happening. It has a low-end computer inside, or it would cost double. Some K Instruments are quite demanding.

In this context, between MPC and M+ consider the following:

    • NI has way better instruments and sound overall, a much bigger range of offerings but not all run on the M+ in standalone.
    • Akai makes it's stuff so that it can run on the MPC's but has less complex and much smaller amount of Instruments.

One is a HW first company first, the other a SW first company first.

What D-One said. The MPC versions that NI released are very cut down compared to the desktop versions, and after Maschine+ users questioned why NI gave those things to Akai first, NI did say that they have plans for more M+ content…

When we'll see it is anyone's guess, but yes it would definitely be nice to see some content released for the M+ (other than sample expansions).

As my colleague says – there’s no chance to port all Komplete instruments to Maschine+ due to lack of CPU power. They’ll probably port some older VSTs, like they did with the Crush and Mod Packs, and maybe some simpler instruments like Super 8 – and that’s it.

BTW, Super 8 could be fire on Maschine+!

Thank you all! I guess at least I can use auto sample to create a lighter acoustic piano with 4-5 velocity layers, which will run on M+?

If you go for Maschine, the Maschine Central library includes Pianos (they were rather lacking previously).

Thank you! Do you mean Maschine Plus or Maschine MK3? Because if it is MK3, I already have tons of VST pianos, but if there are already usable native pianos on Maschine Plus, that would be a plus for me.

I might be alone here and this might be a radical idea but maybe a new maschine+ with components capable of running a full version of Kontakt, even at twice the price, might be reasonably popular. Especially if you can pretty much do away with having a separate, powerful and expensive computer. Make it truly stand alone or at least give the option of a tethered or stand alone version. Personally, I would be happy to pay around double it's current price if Kontakt could run as stand alone and it had better built-in editing options. Perhaps even the ability to import third party plugins too.

    Let's do it NI.

Either/both. The Maschine Central library works with/for both products.

For that price (well… even quite less), you can have an MK3 and a VEEEERY capable laptop, which can run also all other companies plugins, not only Kontakt. And DAWs. And it will also serve as a battery for Maschine (no need to be plugged to wall). And as speakers. And use it for many other tasks too.

What remains is only if you are really allergic to the idea of the “separate” computer, but if you chose something like a Surface, it does feel just like a bigger screen for your Maschine. And adding touch capabilities.

I say all of this because I was waiting (and dreaming) for a Maschine Standalone from loooooong time. Then, once I bought it, I started to feel differently and discovered all the above ☺️

Only thing for which I’m happy to have it anyway: you turn it on and make music. No need to think about all the “computer management” stuff. Well… exception make for some times when “my installed expansions are not showing up” and other issues

    This.

Why spend 3K+ on an (deprecating by the minute once it's out of the box) standalone device when one could put that cash into a VERY high-end custom build PC or a souped up Mac Studio and run anything and everything - included the Maschine software?

For the launch price at release (1.6k) you had mk3 and macbook m1 but people dreamed about “optimised” software and other fantasies instead just get what it offered.

Now the fantasy is an mk2 doing the same it didn’t the mk1 neither… and again software fantasies.

Keep dreaming or wake up from the nightmare…

Standalone means computer free, other wise why even have maschine+? Standalone with severe restraints isn't really standalone if you still need to rely on a PC to get the best from it. Yes you can opt for maschine mk3 and a pc for twice the price of maschine+ but we're talking about something that can run Kontakt as standalone.

Mankind's greatest achievements started with a dream.

I always play both sides, sometimes advocating for M+, sometimes opposite. Today I wanna remind that M+ is a sampler. You don’t expect other samplers/grooveboxes (SP404, Circuits, MC-101, MPC) to do more than they can. Each of them have their limitations, and we know that we have to sample and resample sounds to make it efficient on resources. Then why do we expect it from M+ to be limitless?

I’m with you on this. I wiuld like to have a full box of Komplete Collectors in standalone, but other companies does not provide something like that as well… if you consider all competitors, it’s a rather balanced box. Each of these grooveboxes have pros/cons. Where one wins, others suck… it is really balanced.

Oh by the way, my next post in a few months can be “what the hell M+ don’t do …”. It’s just a “today’s mood”. Don’t get me wrong though. I love M+.
