Komplete Upgrade Paths

I currently own Komplete 14 CE.
The upgrade to Komplete 15CE is the same whether I own Komplete 12, 13 or 14 CE.

This is annoying because I can upgrade to 15CE during the summer of sound sale, but when 16CE comes out, I have to pay the full same price as an upgrade from 14CE.

Why can't there be a better upgrade price from the previous version?

Should I just wait for Komplete 16CE instead of upgrading to 15CE during the sale?

    Please check the Komplete15 Collectors Edition compare page. At the moment it says : "499,00 € For Owners of Komplete 12-14 Collector's Edition" , meaning it doesn't matter from which bundle of 12-14 that you update , it will cost you the same. But that also means that if you do not care for the content of the K14CE and have a previous CE , e.g. K12CE or K13CE , then you ought to be able to sell the K14CE update and then update to K15CE from your previous CE.

    Anyway , then if the sale kicks in with %50 off updates then it will be only €250 to update your bundle.

    IMO the Komplete upgrade is a bargain even at full price (divide the price by the number of new products).

    Upgrading during SOS is IMO a no-brainer.

    Why are you concerned about K16 - at all - at this point? That is years away.

    Standard best practice (and by far - best value) for Komplete - if you really want to save - is to never upgrade when a new version hits. Always wait for Summer of Sound.

    This is all about how much patience you can muster.

    And 100% agreed with @PK The DJ - the price of a Komplete upgrade at any time is still one of the best values out there

    While i agree the $250 price is good (I've upgraded since K12 every year).
    I'm just wondering if it makes sense, since when K16 comes out (later this year?) I'll either have to pay another $500, or wait for 1.5 years to pay $250…

    If I could upgrade with $250 in the sale, then pay $300 (instead of $500) for the upgrade it makes more sense.

    I think you are getting sidetracked about K16 CE and you shouldn't be. That will not drop until Fall 2026. Waiting that - now - is kinda pointless.

    But if you REALLY want even more savings for the exact same upgrade price - you can always just skip this Summer of Sound completely and come back during Summer of Sound 2027 - where you will jump from K14CE to K16CE for the exact same price.

    Again - patience is the key.

    I think I mixed up the release dates. I thought K16 was this year.

    I've always upgraded with the SoS sales, and was even looking forward to this one.

    I just had a thought about upgrading to K16, and didn't realize it would be 2026 and not this year.

    Buying K15 tomorrow, thank you for the advice.

    Also, not denying the bargain of Komplete. It's why I upgrade every SoS. (Sometimes upgrade when the update releases depending on what it has).

    SOS is the best time - by far - to upgrade. Espeically if it is CE to CE.
