Maschine mk3 selecting sounds directly like the maschine mk2

I am using my maschine mk3 to sequence my drumcomputer. For this drumcomputer the sounds are triggered from C1 to C2 and for every one I have added them as a sound to my group. I can select each sound by pressing pad mode, then the pad/sound I want to use and then enter the steps in stepmode.

However I wished there was a quicker way to alter between these sounds. And I saw that on the maschine mk2 you could select the sounds by pressing the white buttons on top of the maschine.

I know I can go through the sounds in step mode by pushing the 4D encoder, but I would rather select them with the white buttons on top.

Is there any workaround to this? I want to sequence the different drums quickly with one hand so that I can change other things on my gear with the other hand during my live set.

    While in the step sequencer mode you can select the "Select" button to the left of the 16 pad quadrant and it will temporarily put you in "pad mode" and while holding the select button down you can select a different pad/sound and when you release the "Select" button you will now be in step mode for the newly selected sound. I'm not sure if this is an easier way or not since you want to be able to do this with one hand.
