Machine Expansion

Sorry if my questions seem elementary and I appreciate anyone who tries to get me an answer. ON the NI website is there an easy way to tell what expansion packs will be compatible with my machine in standalone mode and how do I tell which plugins are compatible with the device and which only work with Machine on my Mac?
