Clean My Mac - has wrecked my set up.

I've been using clean my mac for years - maybe 15. It's been 99% fine, helpful and optimises the system well.

After a recent clean up Native Access and Kontakt have become mangled. Kontakt instruments are listed as 'demo' (including natives own libraries that are registered in Native Access), it can't find .nki files even if I uninstall and reinstall and repair the location - i can point AT the nki and it can't see it.

I've installed applications / libraries in Access, done the usual pain in the ass manual removal of various files and folders in application support (user hidden and main library) - it's a massive amount of repair work.

And still doesn't work. With no Native Support anymore, not quite sure how to resolve it bar flooring my macbook, and starting again - which i don't really have time for as it'll take days of backing up, shifting files and redownloading. Maybe that's the only way…

Anyone else had issues like this and been able to resolve them without extreme measures?

Not a Mac user - but you can start here:

And pay specific attention to the warning box at the top of the article.

This is VERY well-known thing around these forums here.

In general - any use of this tool- usually results in pain. Massive pain. Same goes for a half dozen like minded tools in the Windows world.

Unfortunately -I think you know what you need to do to get back to known good working state.

@mrjackster Can you restore from a Time Machine backup? That'd probably be the quickest way to get back to a working system.

We strongly advise all users not to use it. Your options now are: restore from a backup, or reinstall everything.
