High-Pitched Noise and Overdrive Issue with Z1 MK2 and Monitors

Hi everyone,

I recently set up my Z1 MK2 with a pair of JBL 308P MkII studio monitors using RCA-to-Jack cables, but I’m encountering a very frustrating issue. There’s a constant overdrive-like noise, as if there’s a grounding problem or the cables are defective.

The noise gets worse when I lower or move the faders—it becomes a noticeable high-pitched "piiiiiiiiiiii" sound that plays through the speakers. I’ve already installed the drivers for the Z1 MK2, and I’m using ASIO in Traktor Pro 4.

This problem is making it almost impossible to enjoy mixing music. Has anyone experienced something similar or found a solution?

Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks in advance!

@Martiniix_NI There have been 2 or 3 reports about this. Another one is here:

And I think there is one more that I could not find.

Can you maybe take a look?

Same issue. Switched from my controller I have been using for years to a Z1 with two X1 and plugged the same rca into the outputs that go out and split to two yamaha powered studio monitors and two subs and the monitors sound over driven and have a high pitch squeal. Will have to return the products if it can't be sorted out ASAP and I would like to keep them.

To rule out Traktor issue, it is worth tryoing to configure the audio device in a different audio capable application. Didn't notice this issue with my Z1 Mk2.

Good, in the end I had to sell traktor z1 mk2 because I did not receive support or update to repair that contact that the z1 makes with the rca cables that for some reason makes "mass" contact and gets that horrible sound, I left my post since I was the first to communicate this problem and that today I see that there are more users with the same problem and you still unresolved...

I hope that in the end you solve this for new users.

    thanks.
