Is it currently possible, or planned for future implementation, the ability to send MSB/LSB or NRPN messages from knobs or buttons to access features such as Bank Changes when using the MK3 as a controller for external MIDI instruments?

    Yes you can assign buttons and knobs to MIDI program changes. There's a guide on how to edit or create these templates: How to create custom MIDI Templates with Kontrol S MK3

    any chance we could get a timeline on NRPN?
    The MK3 is a good midi controller but without NRPN it’s rather lackluster. Virtually all of my external synths need lsb/msb to control not to mention standard Midi creates horrible stepping in automation.

    Not trying to dog NI here but this is very old and very standard Midi capabilities that even my $50 maudio keyboard has.

    Almost 1.5 years post release and we still don’t have it nor has it been mentioned much (other than a handful of posts, including mine) in the beta group.

    Already plugging this in the Beta but figured others in the public domain may be interested in NRPN.

    Do we have a timeline on this?

    Signed up just to say I also need NRPN support please. I want to get an S61 or 88 Mk3, but without standalone hardware support it's a no-go, unfortunately.

    NRPN support is desperately needed. Controller cannot be used effectively to control many external synths.

    +1 for bank changes / MIDI Channel > Bank > Sub Bank > Program Change

    Thanks for Program Changes ,but without the ability to change banks it's little help.

    What can we expect for MIDI 2.0 bank change / program changes ?

    Yes, please let us have NRPN support, I've lots of external synth and was hopping that my beloved S61 MK3 can control cutoff and control internal APR of my Trigon 6 or my Novation Peak :(

    Bank PC is also really game changer and important to able remotely change.

    Yeah it's one of the surprisingly missing things in this otherwise really nice controller.

    However, bank changes can probably be implemented using the general approach taken by forum member @4ize, who has figured out how to do bank changes for his Roland Integra synth and shared his entire template here:

    I haven't yet followed his example for some of my hardware synths, but it sounds feasible.

    One thing to watch out for: Bank changes are implemented differently between different synth makers.
