Normal operation of micro mk3

When browsing and on a sound tab my arrows aren't lit and have no function, but when going into keyboard mode my arrows are lit and have a function. Is this normal? Way different than my MK3. My MK3 remains lit on both functions. Still on Maschine 2 Moneterey iMac
