Is there any word on new TRAKTOR KONTROL hardware?

I bought my last D2 10 years after it was launched and i am truly satisfied with the device. Age does not mean bad. What is wrong with something not being the latest most hyped thing?

I assume that the existing modular range will now be supplemented with a new F1 MKII and then closed off again. I no longer believe in a Z2 MKII or something similar, but I'm happy to be surprised. It would also be nice if there were something from third-party manufacturers again. But to be honest, due to the market structure, I don't really see who else would come up with something for Traktor. Personally, I don't really care about new controllers like an S4, unless it's a kind of hybrid between an S8 and an S4. I would find something like that exciting.

Edit: At best, something like a new D2 would be exciting, but I've never had one of those myself, although its fanbase still seems to be very large.

You're pretty much describing a Roland DJ 808 or something even bigger if it will handle 4 effects units. It will be an absolute behemoth and will probably cost twice as much as the S4 although I'm sure it would be a pleasure to use. Given the time that it's taking them to resolve bugs with the TP4, release I can only hope that they take their time and at least get the quality right on any hardware release......

The only thing I find missing from the S4 MK3 for regular use is independent mic channels and a truly independent mixer. The controller does not elegantly handover to the hardware mixer if Traktor were to close for some reason.

In nice to haves (but this is my preference) - jogs which are a bit larger, X1 MK3 style small screens for FX, improved screen features as standard (mods offer a lot already) and better vibration isolating feet (in some clubs, if bass reverberations are too harsh in the DJ booth, the jogs constantly send some midi signal back to the software).

Actually, I'm describing what potential K2 Mk2 could look like. More like modular and not all-in-one unit.

From 4 years ago. Constantin is now at other position out of NI of course…

    So…

I think the issue is still software… Non merging macOS/iOS yet alongside Windows starting its own attempt to truly jump into Snapdragon meanwhile AMD resists that shift… points towards an (another) hard transition. IDK how is going AMD with the new geopolitical movements (and I don't want to derail the topic in that direction neither even could be a significative factor for future technologies) but software seems following the Apple path to a degree.

How release new hardware (aside the modulars) without a true new version…? and not, TP4 isn't that (even the hardware requirements made it incompatible with hardware handling TP3 without issue…)

Standalone Traktor device ala M+? I dreamed for something like that over years but to be fair I can build one just attaching a mac mini behind an S8/D2… or wintablet like the Thud Rumble mixer… also getting Djay on iPad brings more than necessary for A/B mixing and I'm forgetting about Remix decks or stems since dedicated hardware audio outputs seems not possible from djing apps (so it will require a DAW).

IDK if new F1/D2 will revamp my interest. NI should step forward properly and Pattern Player isn't something making me loyal and go instead Serato/Djay route.

Again new Z2… someone could make some mockups or comparing it to Pioneer/Rane proposals? I can't see it and even less after NI ditching audio interface development and opening the software like FS…

After NI releasing plugs for Akai maybe we should expect a inMusic Z2mk2…

That was my first thought too, but I don't think that will really happen. If it does, I would be very happy about it.

NI has opened up NKS to third-party manufacturers. At the moment, I can only see the plug-ins ending up on other manufacturers' devices, and not that hardware will be released that can be used to control the Maschine software, for example. But maybe I'm misunderstanding it?

In general, I think NI's move is very cool, even though everyone with an M+ is wondering what it's all about. I think they all feel like they've been completely ripped off.

But yes, I thought a while ago that it would be cool if Rane did something for Traktor (I was already thinking about that when the takeover deal from ((EDIT: Serato)) Rane to Alpha Theta was on the horizon) or even Numark, Stenton or Denon DJ.

Maybe Soundswitch would be something too?

All in all, it would be very cool if there were more to come!

Let’s hope strategy is well planned because it seems NI does one step forward two backwards…

M+ was delayed or to be more precise “ditched at last minute, then release after lay off drama” (so delayed). The question is why was discarded by the previous CEO, maybe to keep numbers beautiful in the excel for investors… or maybe because it could be to risky but then released later was a mistake IMO. The hardware was outdated (it was launched a month before first mac M1) at 1600€ price point… for less of that price you could buy a mk3+macbook M1 and get full Maschine package (not shrinked version), battery power, full OS… but users wanted to believe (instead listen).

Then asked for the sky as limit but as usual NI couldn’t deliver… it was like asking Wright brothers for a xwing…

Since Traktor seems still a rara avis (and since it wasn’t sold as division even rumoured…) nobody knows what to truly expect. Now seems modular controllers are the trend for “that part of the NI’s strategy” so F1 or something new could be in the pipeline. The chance of new mixer could be a thing if third party makes a partnershipping but the last time (Pioneer mixer) it didn’t go well (NI release its own version aka Z2 ripping it of…)

That (seems) was one of the reasons to Pioneer jump into Rekordbox development…

So Numark/Rane? Who knows but I still believe that the issue is software. Still seems outdated and now you need new macs for barely the same as Traktor 3.
