New to Kontakt (using Noire) --> How to add EQ?

Hi Everyone,

New to this game. Using Kontakt Player to get access to Noire, but I cannot seem to add any kind of parametric EQ in Kontakt. Am I overlooking something? I can hardly imagine a product like this without some kind of built-in EQ.

Noire doesn't employ any type of parametric EQ because the tones are pretty much captured individually to have certain tonal behaviors and characteristics in each of the presets which can by generally modified by the the options such as Color or Presence etc. Of course you can always add a parametric EQ in the track you're using Noire in if there's something more specific you want to address.

the thing is… I’m using noire live. Simply playing piano on my IEM’s. I was hoping Kontich would have the ability to engage an overall EQ, but that doesn’t seem to be the case.

That's pretty much the nature of plugins. They are standalone elements that can work with other plugins in a modular fashion through something such as a DAW. Of course you can run a DAW and simply use one track to build a plugin set and play through it live as you please. There may be simpler approaches out there for just building a live signal chain, but I'm not familiar with them. Maybe something like Native Instruments Maschine might work for you.

Or open up the Edit menu and you can insert all kinds of effects as insert or send fx

Note Noire already has 2 Solid G Eq's built in, accessible via the Edit menu (or in the FX section of the instrument, but with a simplified interface) so you can also tweak those - but be careful then to save this as a new instrument and not save over the factory one - whereas using the output mixer effects are 'outside' the instrument so do not change the file
