Are your line-in and mic inputs so quiet compared to the tracks?
It's almost impossible to get a Shure SM58 to a reasonable volume even if you turn the gain up to full

    Yes, that is correct.

    I ended up buying a cheaper mic with lower impedance.

    But best is to get an external mixer.

    A little workaround, seeing as the master output is plenty loud enough: just turn down the gain on all the other decks, and the master up.
