NOIRE does not work

I changed the location of the libraries and when i open a new project everything works perfectly but when i try to open an old project then either Ableton crashes or it asks me to find the missing files and then doesn't recognize my noire license (btw i used kontact 6 but when i open kontarct 8 it does work but i need my old settings and automations) please please please help me

Sounds like Noire was updated and broke compatibility with Kontakt 6. Please find the installer to downgrade the library here: Previous versions of recently updated Kontakt libraries / compatibility with K6 older libraries

change locations is always not a good idea with native libraries unfortunately. But normally kontakt asks you to point to the new location and then it should work. Do you know your old location, then maybe just put noire there, as copie!!!, then open the project, replace kontakt 6 with 8 or bounce audio.

You need to "repair" Noire via Native Access - that is the critical part of this.

No amount of moving files or manually trying to relink things will work.

First find out what causes the crash like described here. Check them that all kontakt versions work stand alone. Then try what I have written above. Unfortunately if you change folders for libraries all older projects with kontakt search the libraries on the old location and there is no central way of changing that for DAW Projekts at once to the new location. That's the problem.

With new projects it works so I don't think that's the issue, the problem is after you moved a library and you open older projects it looks always for the old location - I had that too once and it is annoying, even after scanning the project worked but open it next time it was asking for the files again.

Hmm. I did not know that.

In my experience - even after some rare file movement over here some years ago - as long as Native Access put things right and manages any "Repair" and/or "Relocate" kind of stuff - I have never experienced any older session giving me problems looking for files "elsewhere".

My Studio One session has no knowledge whatsoever about where Noire's library might be - all it cares about is "Can I open Noire (the actual VST)?

And when it does (well after file moves managed by NA) - we move on.

Will test it with cubase on my main music PC and my laptop, on my laptop I will install noire just on c not f like on my main computer. Then I will see if it will ask for files, like I remember, or not.

alright, first of all thank you so much for trying to help me :)

I think I understand the problem.

the new version of noire doesn't work on kontack 6 so Abelton doesn't recognize it and crashes every time i try to open an old project (and yes it asks me every time about the location of the libraries) even when it does find the libraries the problem is with the new version of noire not working on kontact 6.

so i downloaded the old version of the noire and it is still not working what do you think i should do?

Did you actually "Uninstall" the version of Noire that is not working? You need to do this via Native Access.

Then reinstall the older v1 version?

Without actually cleaning the machine of any trace of the version that does not work - you will never get the older one to work correctly.
