For me - NI once did have total control over their design and environment.

It was called the "good ole days" (circa 2014 and prior)

NI is a vastly different company now - with a vastly different mindset and primary directive.

Amen and that’s just the truth, I’m coming to realize.

Yep, it's a shame. It's also been stated on these forums so many times that if an issue or suggestion is not shared by millions of others, it's just not important. Like blind users, add in Accessibility features and actually do a decent thing but then omit it from the new version because they aren't a big enough user base to be bothered with.

I use to be way more active on the forums here since I do have a lot of useless info that can help, but it feels more and more like a waste of time.

Honestly Jester if it weren’t for You and a Kymeia this product would’ve folded years ago. That’s a fact. The fact you both have offered support/ and or products over the years, more than the company has, speaks volumes.
It’s trivial to me how NI can’t just admit that they need better management and better or more dedicated developers , or developers with more power than the current management is allowing, to do what the customers are asking for on this platform.
The constant excuses from certain company reps has become so old and I’ve just been back for a couple of months now. The customers need to speak up with their wallets and literally stop supporting NI until they wake up from this lazy slumber that has taken over this platform.
If the management doesn’t want to push this product to be better than the developers need to band together with the customers, as that’s who actually pays them, and push the management out of the equation.
The Features that we’re asking about are common sense , and not a huge undertaking to get done, but the constant gas lighting about it is just flat out ridiculous.
I personally don’t see a Komplete Kontrol v4 if they can’t even get v3 to work like v2 already is capable of. ( Ironic this is even possible, as I can’t find many instances where this would ever happen other than with NI).

If they just need more time, just say it, but the excuses CERTAIN NI reps run with are unnecessary and disrespectful to their customers at this point.

We have a small team simultaneously responsible for both Komplete Kontrol and Maschine.

We prioritize as much as we can with what we have → focusing on the most impactful features.

I maintain my commitment to transparency, and I've been clear about what we're working on, when, and how it's going.

Is this enough for some? No. Can I make everybody happy? Also no. Will I hear about it? Yes. This is the job, and I very much enjoy working here, and connecting with all of you.

But please don't assert the above as gaslighting or disrespect. Hopefully enough have come to know me over the last 1.5 years, and know and trust that I lead with integrity, and don't shy away from difficult questions.

I mentioned elsewhere in the forum that with Play Assist ARP soon to ship to Kontrol (it's in beta now) we're due for an updated Kontrol Outlook, and at this point, that can be 2025 focussed. Stay tuned for that.

The simplest answer to "why haven't we built xyz" is "we built something else with a higher priority".

It sucks for any user to hear that a feature request they care about is not as high a priority as another feature request that more users care about. I experience that myself as a user too.

When we focus on certain things and not others, I continue to try and explain why. But I recognize that transparency isn't always popular.

Matt, much of the push back and negativity (which has never been on this level in 10 years I have been here) is not about "making everyone happy" and that is a bit of a cop out statement suggesting that the changes and decisions to completely remove functionality people were happily using for the last 10 years is "just people being unhappy about things. It suggests in tone that some of us are simply complainers that can't move with the times or don't like the shade of red you chose.

Here are some simple straight questions

    User Bank Display (Sub Banks)

This was confirmed already during Beta testing to be an issue and logged with a ticket (or several thereafter). When can we expect this to be fixed as it has now been a year?

    Browser

It has been highlighted by more than just myself this needs improvement. The side browser isn't just "nice" it's a needed part and a part of all other NI software (Maschine, Kontakt). Will this be implemented back?

    Accessibility

This has been a feature for 7+ years used by thousands of users but has not been bought into the latest version. I understand that certain features needed to be prioritised but we are talking here about existing features of a product, not new ones, which suggests the product has not enough people working on it or enough time to develop features before it is released and while it is great that users of the new MK3 will have some features added, this is at the expense of failing to include existing features for existing users. When can users expect to be able to use their new products they purchased last christmas?

Have literally been waiting all year for the software to improve but based on feedback I have seen especially after 3.3.3 release it's not looking very promising.

It very much appears from my view, the focus is on new users not the old ones that helped to actually improve then product for the last 10 years (most of which echo all the same things just not as vocally).

None of this should be confused with your excellent engagement here and your transparency, most of us understand there are other cogs that likely cause these problems and your efforts are recognised and appreciated, however, that doesn't change the passionate hope some of us have to see things actually improve for existing users, not just new features and new users. Bug fixes, refinements and improvements are needed too and it would literally be a breath of fresh air if users were asked what they wanted improved and listened to.
