Working with Clips in 3.0

Does Maschine 3.0 allows to copy and paste clips anywhere in the song timeline? (not duplicate)

No, nothing changed in that context. A Clip is always unique on the timeline, it can't be copied.

    It kind of does…

You can select a clip (say a vocal that extends from one scene to another) and duplicate it. This creates another, unique clip with the same pattern on it. You can then move this clip anywhere along the timeline as you choose.

So if you've created some transition you particularly like you can create duplicates and use them elsewhere on your track.

Thanks for the replies, but Jesus… A LOT of folks were waiting to be able to do this in Maschine. 🤦‍♂️

Its no longer "unique", if you edit one then it's different… also, unique relates to it only being in one place in the timeline, unlike sections which can happen/repeat on many places across the arrangement.

But depending on the purpose, a duplicate Clip can indeed function like sort of like a "Copied" one.

I was and still am against Clips being unique, because if you use them for say the Hook of the song, and later want to change a detail you will need to also change it on every single Hook, which can equal tons of clips for the same exact thing + the fact that since Clips are unique they can quickly add on to a point where selecting, inserting, finding the original across tons of Clip banks on HW becames a nightmare… The same as it would be to work with 200 Patterns.
