Exceeded SSD Sample drive storage capacity

Upgrade to Ultimate 15 stopped as exceeded storage capacity on my internal 1TB SSD where I store samples. Have purchased a new 4TB internal SSD. Have heard warning posts about changing directories then seen others that suggest using the “ repair” process. Do I need to completely uninstall all NI products and reinstall or can I just map out new drive locations via the “repair” route?

No you do not have to re-install or repair (assuming that your drive is NOT the C:\ drive!).

Just copy the contents to the new drive, then replace the old drive with the new one and change the drive letter to be the same as the old one. And of course keep exactly the same folder hierarchy.

Example:

Your old drive was D:\ and your NI folder was "NI Library", so everything was installed at D:\NI Library
Then the new drive gets the letter E:\ and after you copy the contents your path becomes E:\NI Library

Now, remove the old drive and if necessary, reboot (but usually you do not have to).
Then go to:
Start Menu—>Programs—>Administrative Tools and open the "Computer Management".
Then go to Storage—>Disc Management find the new disc, right-click on it, select "Change Drive Letter and Paths" and change the drive letter to D:\

That's all! Now you can open Native Access to check if everything work as it should.

Wow, that was quick. Love this community! Thanks so much.

Only issue is I'm not removing the old drive — just inserting the new 4TB SSD into an empty slot in the motherboard. So, new drive will have a new drive letter (Iet's call that one "F"). As background, I have 3 SSD's — C (500 GB operating system); D (1 TB files); and E (1 TB samples). I"m sure I'll have to point NI and my DAW (Ableton) to the new drive and am dreading the "file not found" error message coming up! 😃

You need to change drive letters, not to point to the new drive!
That's why you get the "file not found".

This is not just a simple re-direction. Native Instruments have tens of thousands of registry entries that they are really hard to be changed, even through Native Access.

Thus, the "swapping" of drive letters is the simplest, easiest and fastest solution. Unless you prefer to uninstall everything and re-install it from scratch. :-)
