KK stand alone loading instruments but not the plugin
Just upgraded to KK ultimate 15…. The stand alone KK is loading instruments just fine but the plugin in both Studio 1 and LUNA is coming up with this screenshot… I have rescaned many times. Not sure what manually in the plugin preferences means.

Do you have the option set to use latest versions of NI plugins?

That’s odd, are you sure you have Kontakt 8 installed as VST3?
When you load a Kontakt library in KK what version is it showing now.

hummm, haven’t thought about that… when I’m in LUNA wouldn’t the AU VERSION be used?
Inside studio one I would imagine I’m using the vst3 version.

Komplete Kontrol requires the VST3 version of Kontakt regardless of whether it is running as an au or VST3

OK… this is getting interesting… I'm in LUNA… I have no control over what version of the KK plugin I'm using.
So, I select KK and load a NI instrument elec mint session guitarist patch and this screen shows up and tells me that I need a newer version of Kontakt ( I have and installed version 8 two days ago.) So I give up on KK and load up an instance of Kontakt 8, loads up the same instrument and I'm off to the races.
Why would KK default to using kontakt 6 for this particular instrument? Maybe I need to update some of the NI instruments

HOLD THE PHONE…. just opened Native Access…. there is an update for KK

well, that didn't solve the problem …. the new update still brought up kontakt version 6 when trying to load an elec mint session guitar patch.

There's really not much of a difference in kontakt 8 vs KK…. other than tweaking the sound of course with the KK hardware.

It will do that if you don’t have the box selected to load in the latest version

I see…. I will switch back

but won’t I go back to the original problem on my first post?

I think the reason why unchecking that box seems like a solution is because you have older versions of Kontakt on your system so the presets are reverting to using those. But that’s more of a workaround than a solution, the key issue is why are they not opening in the Kontakt 8 plugin when loaded in Komplete Kontrol? Are you sure you have the Kontakt 8 VST3 installed and have plugins been rescanned in KK to update its plugin database?
Check your VST3 folder to see if it is there

will do…. If it’s not there how would I install the vst3?
