Issues with Traktor Pro 2 and S5

I just bought a new ROG laptop with Windows 11 and when i install the updated traktor 2 on it, it will not open. This is fixed by using a non up to date version of Traktor 2. Simultaneously, When I can open Traktor on this new laptop, it doesn't recognize my S5 controller. I have no issues on another gaming laptop running windows 10. I am not sure how to deal with this. Does anyone know???

What versions are you talking about? Try an earlier version than the latest.

Note: Win11 was introduced post TP2 (during TP3 i think) so you OS may be too new for this.

You need to use a version of Traktor Pro 2 that is not older than when the S5 was first introduced. I don't know which version that was, but it must be a version that supports stem decks, which was the version that the S8 was introduced.

When I use the most updated version of traktor pro 2, the program won't even open.

So the issue isn't windows 11. Both of my laptops run W11 and traktor s5 works fine on one but not the other.

Which TP2 version works for you, both with win11 and the s5?

Yea I basically use the same setup on both laptops TP2 + S5 + Win11. It works on one(laptop), not on the other. The one it does not work on is the new one.

So just to make it more complicated. My old laptop runs version 2.11.3 and when I run that version on my new laptop, Traktor itself won't open. (I have uninstalled and reinstalled it several times). When I run an older version on my new laptop, Traktor will open but it doesnt read the S5 device.

Looks like you will need at least TP 2.11.2 for the S5 to work. You could request a link for the installer from NI.

You should also have a look which software version and which hardware runs on your system. It's quite possible that Win11 doesn't support TP2.
