I bought the S88 MK3 used on amazon, not knowing about this whole Transfer ID shenanigan. I am sad. Frustrated. Hurt. I reached out to support,of course. Now, another question; to do a firmware update, do I need to have my product registered? I'm having another problem with doing that. I don't know if thats a pre-req or not. Please help this Newcomer!

    Hello,

and welcome to the native community, you can contact support on the website on the bottom, you have to log in or already be logged in. Only native staff can help you with license issues. And you need to register the keyboard in order to be able to download an application or driver called "Hardware Connection Service".

At a minimum I would at least open a support call with Amazon since they allowed someone to market a used item without any regard for getting it working. They might allow you to return it so you can get a legitimate one that can be licensed and installed correctly. I had to do that once and it took about 30 days to get it resolved, but it got resolved and I bought a legitimate S88 direct from NI.

dear lord @DunedinDragon, thats exactly what I didnt want to happen.i did talk to amazon last night. I got the rudest support staff. he wouldn’t answer my question about getting any reseller information. I told him too that it wasn’t working, and just told me to talk to native.

@Uwe303 thank you for that. I was wondering why the Hardware Connection Service wasn’t popping up. I sent a ticket so hopefully I get things working soon.

Also @DunedinDragon did you get any help from the Native staff when you had that problem?

No, I didn't think it was a NI problem. It was clear the seller was at fault by not providing everything that should have come with it. That's why I went that route. Also there was some shipping damage from it not being packaged correctly by the seller.
