Ask Kontakt 8 creators anything

I had no idea about this. I am wondering if the long-term strategy may be to transform Kontakt into multi-engine workstation (like UVI or HALion)…

Rant? Grow up. This is a product forum where you give feedback and provide ideas to improve product development.

But what about Kontakt 8 support for Maschine PLUS?

Nothing wrong with giving ideas to improve product development - but maybe consider doing that when Kontakt 8 has been released and NI gets the slightest chance to tell us what it is all about.

I mostly want to know about migration. I haven't yet migrated my Kontakt 6 projects to K7 because it requires manually saving snapshots and loading them into K7. Was going to do that soon because my workaround for still using K6 with new libraries may not work forever.
Am I going to have to do this all over again for Kontakt 8? Or will there be an easy way to migrate that is not dependent on the DAW? As far as I know Ableton never implemented whatever was needed to migrate from K6 to K7, which means they probably won't for K8 either. Native Instruments should be investigating how to make this easier for users, because every time a new Kontakt comes out there will be more projects needing migration than for the previous version. Depending on the DAW vendor is clearly not reliable.
Otherwise I can't see myself upgrading.

This will remain 100% DAW dependant.
Do not think this has anything to do with Kontakt either BTW. Cannot see v8 changing this at all.
Other DAWs (Cubase/Nuendo and Logic) all have this auto migration process built in.
As a Studio One user - it has been hashed about for years with zero resolution. I will be ready for another round of pain :)

Now Native Instruments only cares about milking customers, and Vocal Point is here to defend them, if you look at the vocal point profile has been defending Native Instruments for more than 10 years

Yeah. That’s my motive for sure. (
I have just as many issues with NI stuff as the next guy.
It’s a public forum. If I want to defend NI - that’s my business. If I need to take them to task - I will. And I have.If you do not like the comments - ignore my posts and move on.

How active you are when someone criticizes native instruments, it even seems like you have your own office in the company.

Ah - now I remember you. "Employee" Conspiracy Theory guy from this thread:
That one got closed because you decide to go rogue.
Do you have anything to talk about regarding speculations or questions on Kontakt 8 or?
@D-One said it best to you back in April:
"You are better off ignoring things that trigger you, this is the internet, people will always disagree and this kind of thread doesn't lead to anything positive."
Great advice.
Let's get back to Kontakt 8 - if possible.

The truth is in the actions.

I certainly think it was an attempt to keep up with Halion and Falcon but it has a long way to go in terms of synth engines, although arguably as a sampler it is still more advanced

What you say is true, I have been trying falcon and it feels more organic, and in uviworkstation the pianos like the model D sound much more natural to me, the NI libraries seem a little cold, I hope in version 8 they manage to correct that.
