KK 3.3.2 Interface very long lag when loading Kontakt instruments (KBDSW-7912)

Hi,

Is anyone else have an issue with KK when changing instruments via the browser ?

It mainly happens with play series instruments but not exclusively, where it doesn't change the main display to reflect the new instrument selected by the software

The attached picture probably explains it better.

I've change the instrument to Soul Session via software and that's what I hear but it's been stuck on Hybrid key for about 5 minutes.

I've only noticed this since 3.3.1

Yes it's been reported - seems to be a graphics glitch (affects other Kontakt instruments too not just Play) - so far only on Mac - a workaround is if you force the GUI to refresh by switching between desktops it updates to the new GUI. Not sure why but it also seems less of an issue if you are loading the instrument from the keyboard rather than in the KK software

Hey @Sc0ttkid We had similar reports and can reproduce the issue. It's already filed as a bug: KBDSW-7912. There should be a hotfix coming soon. Thanks for flagging it.

Thanks Jeremy, note this also affects the sample loader. 1) If you double click on a sample in the KK browser it does not load the sample GUI unless you have loaded an empty sampler or audio player container first. 2) If you load a sample by double clicking in the KK browser after loading a plugin, a ghost of the plugin GUI remains on the screen

Hi. Komplete Kontakt is taking hours to load and I don't know what's going on. I've looked for solutions and everything seems to be scattered with no answer in sight. Where can I go to get this program to run properly?

I posted a solution a couple of posts above - it is loading the instrument as quickly as usual, but there is something wrong with the graphics refresh but you can force it to refresh by switching to a new desktop space then switching back (or closing and reopening the window if you are using the plugin version)

It's a recent bug and a fix is already in the works

Yours is the first report on Intel so it seems this is more Sonoma related then

I'm getting a similar issue with my M1 Mac on Sonoma, & the latest firmware on my s49. The screen & controls on the keyboard just seem to lock up, although it is clearly loading the patches & playing them when I do it from the software

Yeah not fixed yet, if in standalone you can do the desktop spaces thing I mentioned above or even just minimising and expanding the KK window will usually force the graphics to refresh

So was the issue where plugins didn't show in a DAW and even with 2 years of reports, that was never fixed in KK V2…. Now we just have a whole box of new problems to sort out for the next few years. For instance, Sub Banks which I know affects you too, should be a simple fix, 1 year on and still not even a confirmation of any time it will be fixed. In the meantime we have more and more issues crop up that all need attention and that will simply cause more and more delay.

What SHOULD be happening is a cycle of feature development and a cycle of bug fixes, that is any bugs reported are collectively addressed in one round. Sub banks was raised literally during Beta, I would have thought that would have been addressed during Beta. That was exactly the point where I knew we were in for a looooooooong wait on any improvements again.

Has this bug been fixed? I'm having the same issue where the instrument screen locks when I go to select a new instrument from the library. Oddly, I can change Arturia instruments ok, but all the rest of my vendor libraries don't work.

If you don't have MK3 keyboard you can downgrade to version 3.2 that do not have the bug. All 3.3 versions have the bug and that version is necessary if you were a good citizen and kept your MK3 firmware up to date. Support gave me a link to a 3.2 version

For me Kontakt 8 seems to load much faster and fixes this bug - anyone else?
