Simultaneous midi and DAW control via Kontrol S keyboard
Can I play my external synth via midi at the same time as I control my DAW for recording or live performance with the kontrol S MK3 keyboard ?

When keyboard is connected to the PC the MIDI Out is now a PC out, not direct from the keyboard.
It's been asked many times over since the MK1 days if an option could be added to allow switching of that port between PC/Direct output but with 10 years of silence on this one, don't expect that to change. As mentioned above, you need to use a DAW track and rout the signals out of your DAW.

Hello,
if you create a midi track in your DAW and set your external synth as output goal, the corresponding misdi device to be precise, then you can do that. Of course create another track for recording audio, additionally you could also record midi on the midi track.

Use MIDI-OX.

OK this is actually a good answer - I do this all the time using Bidule to route the USB MIDI to hardware - no need for the DIN port that way, any host is capable of routing MIDI out
