Why are there ads in my Kontakt player that I can't remove?

I paid a lot of money for these plugins and you guys are going to make me see ads every time I'm working on a song and need to open the Kontakt player?

I'll be honest. You need to remove these or at least give the option to remove them in settings or I'm done buying any more products from you guys.

I'm sick of seeing ads everywhere I look. Inside my DAW is where I work not where I want to be advertised to.

Hello and welcome. I sympathize completely. Recently there was a huge backlash about ads being in Kontakt and Im still on a version before that happened so Im not sure whats what now. I think they gave a way for people to not show them in the full Kontakt, but I think they remained in the player version. I personally think they shouldn't be in the player either especially if people's only option is to use the player or be forced to upgrade Kontakt.

Hopefully someone will chime in who knows more than me.

Only in full version of Kontakt, not in a Player, sadly.

Yes, especially that free and paid non-Player libraries do not work in Kontakt Player anyway (well, they work for 30 mins, if I recall). Anything that goes via the Player is NI approved and contracted (so library producer first pays to NI to use Kontakt Player) and then the customer pays to library producer to use the library in the Player.

I think they are thinking - it is free.

And because it does not cost you a cent - there really shouldn't be any complaints.

Kinda like paying $6.99 for the Netflix (Standard with Ads). Or paying 22.99 for Premium and getting none.

I agree that this is what they think but it is only “free” as means to use libraries made for Player.

In the same way as EW Opus is “free” - Kontakt Player serves no function other than to be used with Player compatible libraries which we pay for.

NI gets their money share from library makers, so they are getting paid for Kontakt Player separately.

So we are paying for libraries, NI is being paid by library makers, why do we need to endure ads without the option to switch them off?

I have full Kontakt so not my issue, but this kind of corporate push is something that irks me 😉

I did not say it didn't irk me either - but that does not mean that NI cares either way. At least we can shut this stuff off in the Full version.

That said - judging by what it took to get them to turn it off - a day is coming where we will not be able to do that.

@Maciej Repetowski thanks for your explanation on the player, which I confess I didn't know. Knowing that, it all the more reason ads should go, or have a way to disable. I know that many many people are fed up with having ads forced on them. Ads dont work on me so its absolutely pointless showing them to me. All it does is waste bandwidth.

a day is coming where we will not be able to do that.

You've just stated a fact. How do you know that?

    You've just stated a fact

No he didn't. He preceded the part you quoted by saying "judging by what it took".

I could say "judging by the weather today, the end of the world is coming". That does not mean the end of the world is coming! 😁

I could say "judging by the weather today, the end of the world is coming".

Poor analogy. You could say it, yes, but it doesn't make sense. What I said makes more sense than that. LOL.

    - judging by what it took to get them to turn it off - a day is coming where we will not be able to do that.

the fact is they DID turn it off, whereas nobodys going to make a judgement that the end of the world is here from a weather event….and you cant conclusively say the day is coming where we cant turn it off. Speculative nonsense at best.
