Can't Change BPM of a Bunch of Tracks

Upgraded to Traktor 4… and in my collection I have a group of files that are actually pre-recorded DJ mixes… for this group, I normally keep their BPMs at 0. Somehow all of their BPMs ended up at 40 (don't recall how) and I can't change their BPMs to 0… the tracks do not have analysis lock on. I can't change the BPM in the browser window (the change doesn't "take"), nor can I do it in the edit window, regardless if I do many at once or one at a time. What gives? They're all stuck on 40.00 BPM. I can change them to any BPM I like, but not zero.

Any ideas?

After first analyzing a track (even a long track like an hours long mix), traktor calculates its bpm.

The bpm value in traktor has a minimum of 40 and can be as high as 300.

My question is: What do you need a bpm value of ZERO for that you cannot achieve with a value of 40?

I can change the BPMs to say 125, and then if I change it to 0 from there it just reverts back to 40.

40 is probably an arbitrary number that I chose when doing a group edit… 40 is irrelevant. It's the fact that I can't change these to 0.

So, a solution is to click "edit" and then UNCHECK the BPM field which forces the file to 0 BPM. Great. But like many things in Traktor, if you try to do this for any number more than 1 file at a time, it does not work. So I'll be here for the next 3 hours repeating this process for 450 files.

The inability to group edit in Traktor is astounding. Same nonsense happens when you try to repair track numbers. No, you have to do hundreds or thousands of them, one by one.

What breaks if all your mixes have 40 bpm?

For something like a DJ mix, or an air horn sample, etc., I prefer to have 0 written as the BPM, indicating that it's not gridded (it shouldn't be). In all practicality, you're right there isn't a difference since I would never try to beat mix or grid a DJ mix or a vocal / air horn sample… I got it to show 0 by disabling the BPM tickbox, but like in other instances, I have to painfully do one entry at a time. I should be able to group edit them.
