Question 1 - recording a mix it just keeps deciding to stop half way through :S

Hi,

I have tried to record my ecstatic dance mixes and for some reason the record timer just stops and starts recording again - cutting my mix into two sections. It's infuriating after sitting to record and after 1.03hours it just (without warning) stops and saves it and the timer starts again - separating it randomly.

Does anyone know why this might be happening as I need to just record my whole set for an event.

    Salut, il est fort probable que le problème viennent de la taille de l enregistrement sélectionné par défaut.

    Ouvrait Traktor et en haut à droite vous trouverez une roue denté cliquez dessus vous irait dans les paramètres une fois la petite fenêtre ouverte sélectionné dans la liste "mix recorder" et modifier la taille maximale de l enregistrement en modifiant le paramètres

    " Split file at size " .

    Normalement ça devrait résoudre le problème de cut de l'enregistrement.

    My best guess—depending on what resolution you're recording at—is that you're running into a file format issue, e.g, WAV can only record up to 4GiB of information, AIFF will only do 2GiB, and so on. Recordings that exceed such limits need to be split across multiple files (which most DAWs/recording devices do automatically, but there's still usually a momentary discontinuity/loss while one file is written to disk and the recording picks back up with a new file). There are a handful of 64-bit formats that have been developed to handle much larger file sizes, e.g., WAV64, BWF64, RF64, CAF—record to one of these formats (or something equivalent) instead if you're able. (A further thought occurs it could plausibly also relate to a filesystem limitation, e.g., FAT32—but surely you know better than to record to FAT-formatted media if at all possible; just trying to cover all bases…)
