Kontrol S4 mk2 not working. Only lights flashing when power up. Laptop/ipad same problem.
Hi everyone
I didn’t find discussion about same problem, so I started new one.
My s4 mk2 is not working. When I power it up all lights are flashing for aabout 2 seconds as normal and… that’s it. Not working with Traktor Pro 3 on windows laptop. Not working with Traktor DJ 2 on Ipad.
It is not visible as an audio device.
It is not visible in Windows Device Manager.
I tried different USB cables: NI, Xone, djtechtools. No result at all.
Lights are flashing after powering up even when it’s powered up only by usb cable (no power adapter).
After 2sec only usb icon is flashing. That one under browse knob.
Reinstalling Driver didn’t help.
Device Updater didn’t recognise it.
Could it be a usb problem?
Any suggestions?

I just bought the S4 MK2 as well and when I plug in the 15V it does same thing, just a quick flow of colors then the USB light flashes only. Nothing else connected. Does this require full connection before turning on and staying on or should it stay on regardless? Brand new wall plug to specs. Or is this unit fried and should I return it?

If you haven't done so already, please check the following article in our Knowledge Base:
My Native Instruments Hardware Device is Not Recognized
The fact that the unit's lighting is briefly flashing and that the USB indicator is blinking afterwards proves that it's not a hardware flaw but caused on the software side of things.

I think that the Controller Editor bit should be added to that article.
-Test if Controller Editor recognizes the unit (there is a blinking indicator that displays outgoing messages)
-in some instances, Traktor cannot see the hardware if the Controller Editor is not installed on a computer.

Same problem but different consolle (kontrol s2). I tried to change three differenti USB cable, reinstall the controller editor but nothing change...
