Kontakt 5 can't see Applications folder

So here's the deal: I have Logic Pro projects that are several years old, but for one reason or another, I have yet to finish. Because of this, there are quite a few that use Kontakt 5.

I keep a pretty big amount of my Kontakt instruments in my Mac's Applications folder. However, recently I upgraded to a new computer, and transferred all my old files. The trouble is, some of those old Logic Pro projects aren't loading the libraries, because it doesn't seem to be able to see the computer's hard drive in the Files tab. Those drives on the list are external drives, not the internal one.

I can't possibly continue working on these projects unless this older version of Kontakt knows where my libraries are. And I also want to preserve the old projects that are already finished as well!
I'm using an Apple M2 Pro Mac mini, and my OS is Somona. The hard drive Kontakt should be seeing is called Macintosh HD.

Sounds to me like a Mac issue first. Shouldn't the OS let everyone else know where the External drive is?

Q: Does this "external" drive display correctly - for any other applications on this new machine regardless of what Logic and Kontakt see?

And Kontakt 5 is not be supported in Sonoma anyway so you may be in for other issues to be discovered soon…

The newer version of Kontakt I have can see all of my drives just fine. All of my other apps know where it is.
Kontakt 5 works just fine in every other respect, so I'm not sure what you mean.

Which "newer" version are you referring to? Kontakt 7 only just gained support under Sonoma about 2 months ago.

And just because it "appears" that Kontakt 5 is working - does not mean that it is. It is not supported under Sonoma.

For all you know - this inability to see the drive may just one of several things K5 is exhibiting that is not normal.

Kontakt 6. And anyway, I got Somona less than a month ago.
I can't just not have Kontakt 5 work. I'm not able to replicate the settings on those libraries if I can't load them. I have over a thousand Logic projects that use it, going all the way back to circa 2018.

Isn't there some sort of way of telling Kontakt 5 where a hard drive is located? Do I have to use a virtual machine to open these or something?
I suppose I could try that, and slowly convert each instrument to Kontakt 6, carefully redoing the settings. As long as I'm able to load the old ones.

I think we are drifting away from the real issue here.

You cannot just install Sonoma and then assume that K5 and K6 will just work.

NI has been very clear on this. Neither of these old versions were ever tested on this OS so why K5 can’t see your drives is a non starter.

More importantly - both were officially retired from an NI support angle years ago so they cannot answer why your drive is not showing.

If you absolutely need K5 working for all these old projects - you cannot run a version of Kontakt that was released in 2011 against a modern 2023/4 Mac OS.

You need to roll back to a supported version of Mac OS that is known to work with this super old version of Kontakt. Like OS 10.7 etc.

Someone else on another forum actually gave me the solution instead of criticizing me. Thanks for nothing.
