Kontrol 2024 outlook: what was, what now, what next?

@Matthew_NI Any update coming on the M32 or A/S25? I love the affordability of either of these and I’ve been actually trying to decide for years on a MINI keyboard and found these units. For me I’m trapped between the feel of the longer keys on the S25, and the portability + more keys of the M32. If the next release was a M32 with similar screens as the A25, I’d take it in a heartbeat. Is there a release date or any ideas what it might be next?
Thank you
D

Thank you. These instructions however are for restoring browser icons. My issue is the Kontrol screen instrument-picture once the instrument is opened. I’m wondering if this is something that Arturia just didn’t get around to or if it’s a bug in the Kontrol software.

Yes, I know but this also helped me with the image on the keyboard-display.

Thank you for your answer. Yes I know I can change volume with the DAW, but that is not the problem. I have to manually drag the slider of each instrument within the software, whilst standing on stage. I'd like to avoid that as the screen and buttons on the s88 should be enough to control a simple setting like that. Now I'm bound to the plugins that have that option 'from the box'
I happy if it becomes open and understand the time line. It would be great and very user friendly if implemented. Thanks again for the reply

Not sure I would consider the A25 a "Mini Controller."

The roadmap is deliberately focussed on updates to in-market products. I cannot reveal anything about hardware plans, if any.

I love the new Komplete Kontrol interface! I use it for managing/favoriting/tagging ALL of the presets of ALL of my VSTs that live outside of my Ableton Live DAW. I like KK's NKS integration with Arturia, u-He, Spitfire, and Heavyocity. I've also added a number of non-NKS VSTs to the User section (Analog Lab Pro, BA-1, bx_oberhausen SEM, Steinberg Halion/Padshop/Retrologue/GrooveAgent, Vital, Zebralette(s), and XLN).
I've written a few Python programs that help me to inventory my KK VST assets and decide which products to maintain or remove from KK based on how many presets I actually like for each VST. I recently reduced the number of VSTs within KK from 139 to 70, getting rid of VSTs that I just don't like the sounds of.
Another Python program that I wrote provides me with one random but "favorited" preset for each KK Sound Type and Sound Subtype. I run this program at the start of a new composition to give me fresh sounds to work with. This mines the data in the Komplete Kontrol database. I've attached an image that focuses on just Synth Sound Types and their subtypes...
I wanna give a shout out to the yeoman's work that Freelance Soundlabs does https://www.freelancesoundlabs.com/ to allow for easier integration of 3rd party VSTs - excellent work!

It's VERY nice that you guys are being more open about progress and goals for production, but I'm sure we are all wondering when Resizable GUI is coming? Or if it is even being worked on? For instance like with Battery 4. Is there any progress in this field???

This thread is specific to the roadmap for Kontrol series of products - for which Komplete Kontrol does now support resizing in various ways.
If you have questions about other products, please feel free to post them in the general area for Komplete on this forum. Thanks!

Hi Matthew, I read the Road map and was quite impressed. This is coming from someone that was quite critical of the lunch of the MK3 with the absence of functioning templates. (Enough said). To "Lostinfoundation's" point, you do deserve credit for your response and vision for the future. To your point that we get back to talking about the road map, I am sure that most of us here do concur.
Ofcourse it is not possible to preemptively provide such a map at say a major release like that of the MK3; however your map or anything close to it would have gone a long way in guiding all of us but especially power users. But then some items on the map are only determined after the initial release and user feedback. Therefore my recommendation for the road map will be; try as hard as possible to provide as much detail as possible about (what we won't have) during major releases. Details of omission that would've been acquired from example, the very large MK2 base you and others mentioned. After using a gear for as long as the MK2 has been around, you have certain expectations and when a replacement model is introduced, you make certain assumptions. I say that with the realization that you don't control that and that it may not be in Native instrument's best promotional interest however; it will go a long way in quelling anxiety and frustration.
Surely Matthew there will always be losts of items on the wish list after initial use but, it is what we loose at the beginning that is the most critical and eventually painful. Hence all of the chatter here. As producers (I hope some of them agree with me about this), we are faced with the constant irony of loving the switch from a room full of hardware synths to software versions, but hating all of the constant interruptions due to change. Setup your hardware work station and that's it, with software, we're struggling with computer OS changes, software updated or lack of etc. That was why I chose the Native Instruments platform to keep it together. The MK2 (which I parted ways with for the 3) and Machine has lived up to my expectations that led to assumptions regarding the MK3. Sometimes change is good and sometimes it is not. The decision to change (although is ours to make) should best be made with good "intel" so speak.
Lastly, this platform has eliminated what used to be frustrating exercise of patience when trying to get help from tech support on the phone. I didn't think it'll work for me. I was wrong. Everything that I'v wanted to know and much more, I find here. There's always somebody with my issue providing suggestions and often answers. To all you fellow musicians out there I SAY THANK YOU.

One more reason why the people here and their needs should be taken in larger consideration ☺️
Nice post 👍🏼

Hello! Can you give an approximate date of when the update will be available to have the Midi template in the S61 MK3? I want to buy this keyboard, but I don't have much time and I need to see other options if the update is going to take a long time.
Thanks in advance!
