S88 MK3, ships in 1 to 2 days?
I noticed over the weekend a change on NI's regular web site. For months it showed the S88 MK3 as unavailable, but it changed on Saturday to available and ships in 1 to 2 days. That was enough to get me to order it.
I didn't expect it to ship over the weekend but they did bill my credit card. I sent a question to support about when it would ship but haven't heard back from them. I was being told by everyone, including this forum, more stock would arrive later in February. Does anyone know the reality of this situation that it will ship in a couple of days or should I not get my hopes up???

It depends where in the world you're located.

I noticed the same thing too. I am from the US. It's said ships 1 to 2 days. Does that mean the S88 are back in stock like normal?

If they tapped your credit card, then it's probably safe to say it's on its way to the shipper. Sure, mistakes can be made, but this kind of mistake, not so much.
While you're waiting for the delivery to happen, you may want to sort out your external power situation, and/or your USB hub situation for the data, if applicable.
What I mean is that if you plug in your MK3 to USB on your computer, it might come back and say it needs more power. In this case, you'll need an alternate power supply to plug into the USB-C "PD" (Power Delivery) port on the back of your MK3. I would not do this with the same hub being used for the data. I use a separate power supply block and cable. In my case, both are old Apple devices no longer being used for anything else.
I don't know of anybody who HASN'T had to feed their MK3 additional electricity. But who knows; maybe you'll be the guy to luck out, I don't know. But more than likely, you'll need a USB power supply and a cable.
Oh and yes, you WILL need to update the firmware. I doubt that the current batch of MK3s being sent out will have the latest firmware, which was only released a few weeks ago.
Good luck!

The S88 will require it (auxiliary power)... almost certainly.
The S49 and S61 almost never do, if they're plugged in via USB-C. If they're plugged into a USB-A (via an adapter) then they may do.

Units are coming back online in the Americas, yes. Ocean freight has been dreadfully slow (going around the tip of South Africa rather than via the Suez slow) but it's starting to arrive.

Mine (S61) required it, and I plugged into the motherboard, but using an extension cable plus a passive hub. It may be that all that copper plus the hub ended up attenuating power just enough that the device didn't have enough.

Woah, I just saw this YouTube video pop up in my feed a few minutes before I saw your post about ocean freight. It makes sense though. I never thought about impacts of all the conflicts going on in the Red Sea region.

What's a good separate USB-C power supply for the S88? Any specific specs I need to look for?

I could go on and on about the geopolitical impacts of various situations on the safety, availability, and speed of shipping and component supply from Africa and China (our products are manufactured in both). Suffice to say, it's been a challenging backdrop to the launch of a keyboard that no one would typically think about.

Well the good news is my keyboard just shipped as represented in 2 days so apparently the logjam is at least beginning to break up given I ordered this unit on Saturday. That's almost "Amazon-ian" results!!!
