Komplete Start, doesn't include Komplete Kontrol

A moment of silence for KK....

Is there a specific reason for that latest NI decision?

Thank you very much Jeremy for clarifying !

And you were right !!!
Quote Jeremy : Hey all, the new Komplete Start does not offer the Komplete Kontrol plug-in anymore, only Kontakt Player, some libraries and some effects. It seems that some of our content on the website was not updated yet and it's a little confusing.

lol thanks, wish i wasn't though. it sucks, but it's understandable. ni has put a lot of effort into their software, i can understand why they want to limit it's use to people who own the hardware that it's intended to be used with. it stinks for people who got komplete start thinking they were getting kk, which was advertised, but it was also free... so.... i dunno... kind of a wash to me
hopefully ni will do a better job of keeping their website up to date with their products so people aren't misled in cases like this, or when they purchase libraries such as Duets and then find out later that the minimum version in NA does not match what's advertised on their website.

Because NI like to take away functionality from users once they are use to it.

LOL I'm pretty sure they didn't do it out of spite. Commercial companies for better or worse exist to make money, they might not start out like that, but at the end of the day, you can't pay rent and electricity with happy thoughts, and hopes and dreams. Trust me, I tried that once, it didn't work out too well. So while it really sucks, from a business perspective it makes sense.

May we know why this is please? Seems as though it isnt possible to download this free software any more

@nobadmojo @B.Minor Komplete Start is aimed at new Native Instruments users, there was a lot of confusion, having to install Kontakt, Reaktor, etc... So the new Komplete Start will only include Kontakt Instruments and Effects, we reduced platform access points from 3 to just 1, and achieve a much more streamlined User Experience for new users.
@JesterMgee Komplete Kontrol will still be there for keyboard owners and should be available on our website soon.

That sounds like marketing talk to me! "We made it better and more 'streamlined' by taking things away".
Basically it now means that for anyone wanting to use KK they must own a keyboard. I guess it was nice that KK was available to everyone to try out the workflow, but now people have to invest money to feel disappointed.
Well, you said it. They did it not for spite, but for money reasons which is essentially a middle finger to those that found it useful but never wanted another keyboard, requiring people to now buy a keyboard to access Komplete Kontrol and NKS.
It is still things being taken away from users, does not matter the reason, when you have something and it is then removed or completely taken away it's still a bitter pill to swallow.
Just wondering if the new KK v3 has midi learn capabilities still for learning the controls of a 3rd party keyboard. Can't help but chuckle thinking maybe it doesn't and someone decided it would just be easier to make it not available to people without a KK keyboard now to save having to add that back in. Because it does seem pointless now to have that capability if you have to have a KK keyboard anyway.

Good question

Komplete Audio 1 is still advertised as including Komplete Select 14 for £69, so that seems the cheapest way to get Komplete Select which is still advertised as including Komplete Kontrol + an e-voucher which is usually about £22

@JesterMgee Jeremy literally said that it should be back and available on the website soon. Likely in the same way some other freebies (like Ozone EQ or COMMUNITY DRIVE) work: you simply claim/"request" them.

Jeremy said that the new Komplete Start does not offer the Komplete Kontrol plug-in anymore, and that Komplete Kontrol will still be there for keyboard owners and should be available on our website soon. Kind of implies it's a keyboard-owners-only application?

Ok, but can you confirm if it will still be available for ALL users or as implied by what Jeremy said, it will be available for keyboard owners?
It seems how I read it, owners of keyboards will still have access to it but from how I read it, KK has been removed from the Komplete Start package and is no longer available unless you have a keyboard. Some clarification would be nice
There are users out there that use KK specifically for the NKS browsing side and do not own a KK keyboard.
