OK the Mk1 has, like many of us; almost had its day. What about a proper replacement not the Mk2 or Mk3 we Mk1 users do not want screens on our keyboards we use our monitor which we have placed directly behind our keyboard. We want keyboard light guides that can be seen at an instance either from the front or even from the top. You see NI got it right with the Mk1 and why the needed to change the keyboard light guides on every update beats me. It would be nice if someone had the courage to stand up and say “Hey we got it right 1st time, why change it”.
OK I have come to the conclusion I do not want a Komplete Kontrol Mk3. What I do want is NKS 2 compatibility on my Mk1 which I am clearly not going to get, I want a quality keyboard. I want basic transport controls and I want my 8 rotary knobs to tweak instrument parameters with. I want to be able to sort through all my NKS VST instruments and be able to listen to the presets while scrolling through them whilst looking at my PC monitor. I am getting repetitive I want NI to make me a new MK1 that is up to date and has at least another estimated 10-year utility.
What I am saying in a long-winded manor is I want a New A Series keyboard, with keyboard light guides and a quality keyboard with after touch. Which if you think about it is exactly what the S Mk1 was LOL.
IF NI adopt my suggestion, I would appreciate they send me a new A Series free of charge for appraisal.

I'd just prefer if they didn't keep tying hardware to software and then abandonding half of it it when it's convenient to them. Make it work well with other brands keyboard and other controllers rather than just doing the vertical integration marketing thing.
NI simply have destroyed any trust I have for them by continually doing this and I'm far from alone.

I have never seen a statistic about that, so, I'm not sure where you pull those numbers from.
I see a lot of people changing their phones frequently. 4 phones in 9 years is absolutely nothing special. Well, maybe among people who keep their MIDI keyboards for 20 years.

I actually searched and found them from market research. I'd suggest that you do the same rather than working off assumptions based on your personal anecdotes, you'll have better data to work from then. This isn't meant as snark but rather as a way to assist you in finding more accurate information in future because anecdotes are not a good way of doing this.

I agree 100% with this fundamental concept.
As I said many times in different ways... attempting to compete with a desktop's monitor/cpu within the confines of a on-device display/cpu is a fool's errand.
I've jumped into the MK3 to see if NI can pull off this fool's errand any better than before...I enjoy the journey and am willing to bend in my opinion if they somehow do it.
But if I were king.....

I trusted them too, and from now I'm done for good with N.I.
What a big disappointment, old customers are not important to N.I.
No more buying from them.

Many people who own MK1 are core NI users. I think everyone, including me, will end up buying the MK3 despite complaining.
I understand that hard and soft hybrid products have a short lifespan. The email stated that support for MK1 will be discontinued when MK3 is developed. I wish I had been informed sooner.
There were no announcements in languages other than English, and there are still many people who do not know about this incident. I would like the information to be disseminated in languages other than English as soon as possible.
Users who recently bought MK2 are confused about this incident. In the future, starting with MK2, I would like users to make an early announcement and take steps to discontinue support so that they can understand.

Well, I am not going to buy any new NI HW, if my KK S88 MK1 will not be usable with lightguides together with Maschine HW using NKS2. ;-)

Please note, there's not actually anyone from NI here now that Matthew has gone on paternity leave. They don't appear to have hired to cover his role and with him gone they don't appear to take the community of their customers seriously at all.
This also is poor compared with their competitors who engage in this on external forums as well as internal ones.

I am a longtime NI user, and I strongly disagree with your statement that “longtime users are being left behind”.
Products can’t be supported forever. The KK mk1 controllers still work, and will continue to do so.

The KK Mk1 controllers won't work with the current updates of the KK software and the plugins that are updated to support this, so that's an untrue statement. By not updating one piece of software to function with hardware they have no technical reason not to support, they force users to make a choice of not being able to update all related pieces of software or remove all the advantages that they bought the KK S Mk1 controllers to enable.
I repeat - there's no technical reason they cannot support the Mk1 controllers, they chose not to for their own convenience and their own profit.
Please stop excusing this.
