Thanks for updating FM8 for M1 compatibility/
Now could you please add an option to double the size of it? I can barely see it on my M1 Macbook Pro.
Scalable GUI is a high-requested feature, but most likely won't be implemented on aging products like FM8. At least not anytime soon, sorry!
I wonder if it is possible to replace the graphics with higher res versions?
You still sell this "aging product" for € 149.- in 2023, calling it a "contemporary classic". Clearly not "contemporary" enough though, when displays and resolutions are so big and high, that I actually can't see some parts of the interface on my 33" 4k monitor, without bringing out my reading glasses.
To be honest, this answer ("highly requested" but "won't be implemented" because "aging") makes me somehow regret that I bought this software.
Maybe you should change the text on the FM8 website to "Not so contemporary classic, not going to get highly-requested updates because it's to old but you can still throw you money at us!"
Agreed with sofastar. Still selling a product that is too old to be seen properly on next gen hardware compared to when this was released is like selling a phone without a charger. Please update this to where we can change the image scale. This is a great synth and it would be great to be able to see what we're doing.
Please update the GUI. FM sounds are super common in bass music and this synth needs to be resizeable.
well....that issue brought me here, as I thought I must be doing something wrong...can't resize the GUI...
and literally, I cannot use this instrument at all, because it is so tiny...
So I know the answer now:/...
sad...I thought I will be able to use this product, as I do like FM synthesis...
NI, come on...
Maybe we should create a global request to let them understand that FM8, Massive plugins are important (although obsolete for them) to be adapted with today requirements as it is still sold as new product. They should be able to update this part, which is not a big issue for programmers/developers.
It is like selling eggs... some are fresh some very old and hidden among the fresh ones in the same basket.
We are hundreds, even thousands of users who would like to use these plugins.

If they are obsolete it would be better to remove them from the catalogue. this to avoid misinterpretation.
Customers first😉
I'll pile onto this thread as well. I recently revisited some of my favorite presets in FM8, Massive (the original, not Massive X), and Absynth. These synths are just as relevant today with their quality, versatility, etc. I'd love to see all three have a GUI scaling feature.
Got this as part of Komplete 15 Standard. Add me to the list of customers who believes that if you're still selling software, you need to support it. Openly refusing to make highly requested quality-of-life improvements in much-loved products that you STILL SELL isn't terribly smart, never mind customer friendly. NI should warn Komplete customers about this kind of thing.
FM8 looks and sounds great, but the scale means I won't spend time learning and using it.
Also makes me somehow regret that I bought this software
Unacceptable. If it was legacy software, but it's still actively sold as a part of Komplete. Add the abandonment of Battery 4 and it's not a good look for NI.
Now Massive has zoom I wouldn't be surprised to see FM8 get it next
Nope, it's still too small and they still are selling it.
PLEASE UPDATE IT'S IMPOSSIBLE TO USE.
The problem with NI's zoom feature, same with Plugin Alliance, is it goes in leaps of 25%. That isa HUGE difference. So on my 5k Studio Monitor either have plugins at 100% that are little too small, or at 125% where they are too big. Unfortunately there is no in-between. Kontakt has the same issue, but it gets worse. The only way I can make an older instrument panel larger is to magnify ALL of Kontakt. I may be able to see the instrument UI more clearly, but the rest of Kontakt is WAY too large. Personally, I think NI needs to put a bit more thought into how their zoom feature works… 1. Zoom increments of 10% like Arturia does OR full scalable 2. In the case of instrument hosts like Kontakt and Komplete, the Instrument Panel needs its own zoom factor 3. UI Text should probably have its own size too Because the way it's currently executed is unusable in many circumstances. At least, that's my experience.
