How to start with Maschine Mikro MK I - need help

Hello Community, i just got a Maschine Mikro MK I that i bought second hand and with no license, i was expecting to start in the production world, i ve been djing for a few years and i want to make the jump.

I could find some manuals, but i want to know what information would be key, and what do i need to know.

Should i buy the software from native instrumentes, can i just use the maschine with Ableton ? (All my friends re working with that DAW)

First, what OS are using (Mac or Win) and the version of the OS... If Mac, read this article on Mac compatibility..

if the Mikro is Compatible, then contact NI Account and registration support, if you have a Serial Number on the Mikro, they will be able to determine if it can be properly licensed to you and then give you options for getting the most up to date software.
