GR 5 always scans components and presets on load

I already deinstalled and reinstalled GR5 but with no avail. Before deinstalling I manually deleted the GR folder in users/AppData/NI.

I think the problem is GR doesn't know where its Presets are (nor do I).

GR5 file locations here are:

I have a folder on a different hd which was apperently used for Maschine which is called Guitar Rig Pro Library for Maschine X. Here, in a subfolder Modules, are all the .mfxp presets which show up in GR5 after it has completed its scan. Very confusing.

Hopefully someone can help me out. I recently dug out Guiter Rig 5 after disregarding it for a long time, and saw it's actually quite good!

First, have you tried opening GR5 using "Run as Administrator" ? if not, give it a try... also, the .Mfxp presets you see are Maschine NKS presets and are not used specifically "In" GR5 but rather are Maschine specific.

um, I'm using GR as Vst only, but anyway..Loaded Ableton as admin, then GR5 and...it works! No more scanning!

Just an FYI, it is recommended by NI that software that has a standalone and VST version by opened as a Standalone app prior to using as a Plugin... so for safe measure, you might want to open the standalone as Admin once...

Damn, I crowed too soon. GR scans again when loading a song where it's included.

Actually I did this First-open-Standalone-as-Admin thing only after using it several times as a PlugIn. Do you think deinstall / reinstall - and then immidiately run it as admin - could help?
